The Build A Magazine 3-week placement offers valuable experience and insight into magazine publishing from journalism, editing, production, marketing and distribution, coupled with a comprehensive grasp of publishing.

Whether you’re currently studying a related full or part-time course or just want to understand the publishing and media industry more, this placement will provide hands-on experience and students will learn first-hand the editorial and production skills necessary to plan, commission and produce a print magazine issue. 

Students will develop an array of transferable skills for their CV, will be able to build or add to their portfolio and will receive a letter of recommendation from the editor-in-chief upon successful completion of the placement. 

Every month until December 2024, we will take on a new cohort of students for the 3-week programme. Applicants must be 18-25 years old to apply. If you are 17 years old but turning 18 years old this year, you may apply to be considered once you turn 18.

Applicants do not have to be currently studying/a student to apply.
