Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram in support of Donald Trump, has donated $1 million (£786,000) towards an inauguration fund. Trump was previously critical of Zuckerberg, calling Facebook an “anti-Trump platform.” Although in November this year the two met at a resort and sought their relationship following the election. Meta has not made a donation like this in the past in other elections, including Joe Biden's. The money that Zuckerberg has donated to the inauguration funds is used to pay for events and activities for the new president to host. Is this part of a plan for Zuckerberg to ensure that the most powerful man in America is on his side? A kind gesture or to ensure his protection for him and his company?
