Bomb threats made against Trump cabinet nominees

Trump’s new cabinet nominees for the White House have been facing numerous bomb threats. The threats have been made against at least nine of the nominees, who are set to be the leaders of the Departments of Defence, Labour, and Agriculture, and also his deputy for the US ambassador to the United Nations. The spokeswoman for the Trump transition team, Karoline Leavitt, stated to the BBC that the nominees “were targeted in violent, un-American threats to their lives and those who live with them.” She also spoke to the safety of the appointees that the “law enforcement acted quickly” to protect their safety. Those behind these threats are yet to be identified by the FBI. Peter Hegseth, the nominee for defence secretary who was a recipient of a bomb threat, only becoming notified of this when a police officer showed up at his door whilst his family were asleep inside, has made a statement to the BBC. He started in response to the threat, “I will not be bullied or intimidated. Never”. He is standing his ground against the threat and is being loyal to his president, Donald Trump. Although, as Trump faced two assassination attempts during the running of his campaign, the idea of threat and violence is not a new concept to our new president. Will Trump be taking any further action to ensure that his nominees' lives and families will be properly protected?
