Renowned for transforming rugged SUVs into high-performance automotive statements, Brabus has done something truly unexpected: it has taken the already formidable G-Wagon and created two convertible versions: the 800 Cabrio and the even more extreme XL 800 Cabrio. Both debut as part of the brand’s 2025 reveals.
Under the hood sits a tuned 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 789 bhp and roughly 1000 Nm of torque. The 800 Cabrio accelerates from 0–100 km/h in about 4 seconds, topping out at a governed 240 km/h. The XL 800 Cabrio, built for off-road dominance with portal axles and nearly half a metre of ground clearance, hits 100 km/h in around 4.6 seconds and peaks at 210 km/h. Massive 24-inch wheels, a widebody kit, exposed carbon fibre detailing and glowing exhaust tips signal that these are no ordinary SUVs, they are supercar-meets-off-road statements.
Perhaps most sensational is the soft-top convertible roof system. Engineered with over 500 custom components, the roof opens or closes in just 20 seconds. Raise or lower it with the push of a button and instantly shift from muscular SUV to open-air cruiser. The structural roll cage remains, ensuring that even with the roof down, the ride feels grounded and secure, though it is very much a G-Wagon transformed.
Inside and out, Brabus keeps the G-Wagon DNA but adds its signature touches: bespoke interiors trimmed in premium leather and Alcantara, carbon fibre accents, performance-tuned suspension, and that in-your-face aesthetic balancing glamour and grit. It’s a G-Wagon reimagined for those who want power, presence and paradox wrapped into one.

With the 800 Cabrio and XL 800 Cabrio, Brabus reasserts the G-Wagon as a living, evolving icon. The brand refuses to let the G-Wagon sit comfortably in its heritage. Instead, it pushes boundaries, to supercar performance, convertible boldness and extreme off-road capability, all while keeping luxury evident.
In a world of electric SUVs and restrained design languages, this is unapologetic excess. It’s audacious. It’s show-stopping. It’s G-Wagon, but re-written.
