Emilio Pucci RTW Spring 2023

Along the Arno river bank with the Ponte Vecchio as a backdrop, Camille Miceli presented her debut runway show for the brand Emilio Pucci one year after being appointed as Artistic Director of the brand. The Spring 2023 RTW collection, adequately dubbed 'Initials E.P.' saw the brand return to its birthplace Florence, Italy, an ode to founder Emilio Pucci.

As the sun went down the first look arrived by boat, onto the open-air catwalk. A flowing Balloon silhouette caftan printed in the Pucci pesce motif, alongside different variations of the moon which was a central theme throughout the collection. Inspired by the astronaut patches designed by Emilio Pucci in 1971, for the Apollo 15 moon mission, Miceli uses this as a reference for the collection inserting it into silks and twills, laminating them with a layer of golden foil. The glistening fabrics were crafted into various round-shaped, balloon silhouettes, emulating Pucci's 60's Space Age look which won the hearts of many at the time.

The see-now-buy-now collection, though referencing initial Pucci codes, featured a variety of practical and essential pieces designed to attract the younger generation. Sumptuous mini dresses with raffia appliqués, cami dresses, and laser-cut washed denim looks were ever-present on the runway, amongst the guests on the night were American rappers Ice Spice and Saint JHN, Wednesday Actress Emma Myers and Korean singer Jeon So-Min. Other key looks included: brightly coloured bomber jackets with matching skirts, bucket hats with inserted sunglass lenses and enticing catsuits made from stretch jersey, all printed with eye-popping palettes and layered with luxurious gold-chain body jewellery.

The night brought with it a triumphant after-party filled with food, drinks and good music, it can only be said that Camille Miceli knows how to entertain, leaving her guests anticipating what's to come for the brand.
