Mark Fast takes us into the ‘Beyond’ at LFW

Taking place on a bare office floor next to St James' Park station, the sight of a queue of fashionably dressed guests queuing up during your break time would leave a lasting memory on your normal office day. But that is just the noise that comes with the Fashion Week season and it was nothing less at the Mark Fast A/W24 show.

From voluminous knitwear, denim jean-boots and a neon pink hooded blazer, the collection had the signature Mark Fast style with the layered looks combining his infamous knit style. Inspired by urban architecture, Fast leaned on the 60s architect, Joe Colombo’s ‘futurist innovations, incorporating what he called the fourth dimension: time’ alongside the Fast that we all know and love.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to pair both 60’s cosmic elegance with a y2k urban style then look no further. Walking to base-y house beats, the models sported looks with teddy coats and matching boots with the same sheepskin-like material, one look that cut through the mix of playfulness was a beige suit with shorts paired with black leather boots which acted as almost a palette cleanser amongst the minimal knit mini dresses and velvet gowns and fringed pieces. Each chosen outerwear piece complimented each look and you it’s not a fall/winter look without a good boot, calf-length patent boots in black and metallic silver but my favourite of them were the thigh-high denim-jean boots attached to the jean part of the trouser by shiny popper details automatically stole my attention.

Throwing in sole graphic tees with a cartoon cosmic inspired design, the collection was definitely a fun combination and as stated in the show’s press release, “appealing to the cool and stylish community that defines the Mark Fast tribe.” Which sounds like my kind of tribe.
