Matthieu Blazy, named Chanel’s artistic director

The designer Matthieu Blazy, has hit a new milestone in his career after 3 year in the position of creative director of Bottega Veneta, Blazy is set to, succeed Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, after being appointed artistic director at the iconic French fashion and beauty brand Chanel. Chanel’s fashion president, Bruno Pavlovsky, stated in an interview with the Business of Fashion, “Matthieu became an obvious choice for the brand as we came to understand his talent, personality, groundedness, and culture.” The decision of appointing Matthieu was an opportunity to “push the boundaries of what Chanel is, for the future.” Innovation and his way of thinking are what Chanel is looking for in the future of their brand. He has built a sustained reputation for his craft, being demonstrated within runway shows and collections showcasing his designs. We are excited to see more of his modernistic designs on the runways for Chanel in his new position. Congratulations, Matthieu Blazy.
