Mother, May I?: All the pieces you should have ticked off your wishlist this May

May, characterized by the start of Summer, blooming flowers and now the springing up of new fashion trends. Naturally, May is the best month to start thinking about your Summer wish list as we begin to shed our Winter warmers. So, here are some of the key pieces we think you should have in your basket before the end of the month.

Let’s start off strong with the Loewe Toe Post sandals. When we saw these, we knew they would instantly be a must have piece for the IT girls. Think Yeezy slides but make it fashion, with the Loewe anagram, embossed on the toe post and colors ranging from lime green, white and a caramel brown. You’re sure to find a pair that will fit into your Summer lookbook and for only £495 we don’t see why not! Pair with cargos, a white tank top, sunglasses and an oversized tote bag for a casual and chic look.

Next up we have the Chanel Formula 1 t-shirts that have been driving the girls crazy as they try to hunt for one in their size. White tees are always a Summer staple but the embellishments bring that Y2K element that has been trending for the last few months. I love this tee because it reminds me of all the heavily beaded tops I used to get put in as a child. Pair this with a denim mini skirt and some cool trainers and you’ll be ready for the races.

This year, May was Muglerized as we saw the release of the H&M and Mugler collaboration after months of anticipation. My favorite piece is the oversized wool blazer, structured, sleek and minimalistic but elevated in true Mugler style. Literally throw this over any outfit and you’ll look stunning.

It’s not Summer without a tank top. Loewe has been reigning supreme but Miu Miu, Prada and Bianca Saunders have been coming in hot with their own rendition of the tank. If you prefer a little bit of flash, the logo emblazoned Miu Miu version may be your choice or if not, the Y neck tank top by Bianca Saunders is a great option too. Personally, I’ll be adding both to my basket.

How do you elevate the essential Raffia bag, you Goyard it. The Goyard Aligre bag, made of hand braided raffia mesh and the signature Goyard canvas, is not one to miss this Summer.

You can’t spell holiday without a bikini and currently we’re loving this Louisa Ballou Sex Wax Halterneck swimsuit. With a mesh sarong or knit cover up, this would make the perfect beach look. Just add a cute raffia tote bag *cough cough Goyard* and you’re set.

Last but not least on our Love list are the Ashes to Ashes denim jeans by Who Decides War. We love unisex jeans especially when they can be worn as low rise on ladies and the distressing of the denim and the details can elevate the most basic top and make your outfit look effortlessly cool.

We’ve shared with you our seven favorite pieces for the month of May, so we’re expecting to see all of you killing it this Summer and slaying the house down with your recreations.
