Vera Wang Brand acquired by WHP Global

Vera Wang has decided to sell her fashion brand to WHP Global after 35 years of ownership; however, her deal with the brand has enabled her to obtain the position of chief creative officer. Some of the brands that WHP Global also owns include Rag & Bone. Bonobos and Joe’s Jeans, mall brand Express, and the children’s retailer Toys R Us. The Vera Wang brand has been independently owned by her since the year 1990 and has reported to have an annual gain of sales of $700 million. She first entered the fashion world with a job at Vogue and also Ralph Lauren before starting her brand. Vera Wang stated in an interview with Vogue about the decision that it was “the right combination for me and at the right time. WHP is in full growth mode, and there's such an energy within what they’re doing and their ambition, passion, and dedication, and I really feel very fortunate that they believe so much in me and my brand”. The feelings are mutual with the chairman and CEO of WHP Global, Yehuda Shmidman, who stated to Vogue about the decision that “We are honoured to partner with Vera Wang and look forward to building on the brand’s remarkable legacy with new business opportunities around the world.” We are excited to see what the two brands will create together in the fashion industry and what they will bring to the industry in 2025.
